We thank you for considering GlossyAdventure for your Tanzania Holidays.
Thank you for considering Tanzania Adventures for your Mt Kilimanjaro Climb. Let us start by giving you some general informations about our climbs…
LET’S TALK KILIMANJARO TREKKING!
We appreciate your consideration of using our team of wonderful guides and crew to accompany you up the mountain!
A Trek up to the top of Kilimanjaro has proved to be one of the most rewarding and incredible experiences that our guests have experienced. Time after time, their comments upon their return are filled with a combination of awe, exhaustion, wonder and delight! Our climbers also are so pleased with our crew of guides and porters and how helpful and spirited they are, and our cooks that create a bounty of fresh, tasty meals that leave your belly full, and fueled for your extreme exertion. Our guides are trained in high levels of first aid and will be monitoring you all the way up the mountain, checking your oxygen levels, pulse and blood pressure a couple times daily. They carry emergency oxygen if anyone should need it. Our overall success rate of reaching the summit with Taanzania Adventure guides is 98%! Our guides and mountain crew are awesome at helping motivate people and encouraging them to summit. Everyone tells us that they would have either not made it or would have had a MUCH harder time without them and their positive spirit and singing! It is easy for a company to claim whatever they like about their services and equipment, but instead let me give you this link to our Trip Advisor reviews it :https://www.facebook.com/glossyAdventur/
GlossyAdventures is a proud partner with the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (KPAP), a local non-profit organization that is dedicated to the fair treatment of porters and crew on Kilimanjaro. KPAP is the local initiative of the International Mountain Explorers Connection (IMEC) and performs the monitoring activities for IMEC’s Partner for Responsible Travel Program. We gladly follow strict standards in more than 10 areas of treatment criteria to assure that we are responsible, fair and have good treatment practices towards our mountain crew. Because of our partnership with KPAP, you can rest assured that you are choosing a company that can make you confident you are making an honorable choice by being a part of the commitment to a humanitarian cause. Please ask me about this and I will be more than happy to share additional information about this prestigious partnership!
Our private climbs can start on any day of the year that you choose. Each group can make the decision whether to open it up for others to join. We will never add others to your private group without your permission. These climbs are priced according to the group size. We do offer monthly open group climbs offered at a set price. These are ideal for small numbers to climb at an affordable rate and have some company during the trek. For the open group climbs, it is understood that additional climbers will be added without consultation. It is also understood that for open group climbs we may pair same gender people together in hotels and tents for double occupancy.
We have three price levels for our Kilimanjaro treks. The price level differences are based on the in-town accommodation (included in the price) one night before and one night after the trek. The luxury climb also includes a toilet tent for use at the overnight camps.
At the Budget level your accommodation would be at the AA Hill Street Accommodation which is clean, safe and in the same building as our facilities. (no meals offered). They do not have a website, but you can find reviews for them a
At the Standard level you would stay at the Leopard Hotel(B&B)
At the Luxury level the accommodation would be either the Sal Salinero Villa ( or Bristol Cottages. (B&B)
Note: Effective 1 July 2016, the government has eliminated the 18% VAT waiver on park fees. The prices below show the new prices. Tipping….
The guidelines for tipping are as follows:
Guide – $25to $30 per a day
Assistant Guide – $20 to 18 per a day
Chef COOK- $15 to $10 per a day
Porters – $10 to $8 per a day per porter
For a group of 8, you would have 1 chief guide, 3 assistant guide, 1 cook and 25 to 28 porters.
These Tips are paid as a group rather than by each climber. In other words, the group in total pays $20 to $30 per day to the guide, etc.
Keep in mind that by park regulations, the porters are allowed to carry only up to 20kg and we suggest that you carry approximately 5kg in your day pack, including 3 to 5 liters of your own water supply.
With this in mind, packing efficiently is important. You will be going through several climate zones during the trip so dressing in layers is important. We strongly suggest that you use the packing list found at:
Before the beginning of the climb, we will go through an equipment check with you to make sure that you are properly prepared.
Working in conjunction with your travel insurance, we provide the Flying Doctors medical evacuation service absolutely free. This would provide the evacuation and your travel insurance would provide the medical treatment once at the hospital.
In terms of equipment, we have the largest selection of rental equipment in Moshi. You will enjoy a 50% discount on anything you have to hire. The price list for the equipment is available at:
On the Our Room you will find facilities for making your airline reservations and buying travel insurance.
Regarding the Safaris Optimize…
LET’S TALK SAFARIS!
Your safari can start on any day of the year that you like. Each group can decide if they want to keep their safari private or open it up for others to join. We will never add people to your group unless you request us to open the group up to others. In those instances, the price of the safari is adjusted accordingly. Each participant will always have a window seat and each of our safari vehicles has a pop up safari viewing roof. We use Toyota Land Cruisers for our safaris.
We have three price levels for our safaris and the prices are based on lodging while in the parks. Budget level is camping safari, the Standard level is mid-range lodging and Luxury level is the more extravagant lodging. There are a few options for these levels such as tented lodge to first rate lodges. Budget, uses tents similar to that on our logo at the top of this email. Our staff will set up the tents and our chef will do all the cooking, all you need to do is relax and take in nature. Examples of mid range accommodations are:
Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp
Rhino Lodge
Kati Kati Tented Camp
Examples of luxury lodging are:
Serena Hotels
Ang’ata Tented Camps
Escarpment Lodge
The prices for the 8 day/7 night safari for 8 people are for Budget level $1850 per person, Standard level $2640per person and Luxury level $2980 per person. This would include visiting Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.
If you choose budget level, you will be camping with all gear included such as tents, sleeping bags and pillows. You will have a cook to prepare very good meals 3 times per day and a full stock of bottled water. If you choose lodge/tented camps, you will dine at the lodges, therefore will not have a cook travel with you. You can bring your own snacks and flavored drinks/beer/wine. The safari vehicles are equipped with either a small refrigerator or ice chest for you to keep some drinks cold. They also have charging capabilities for camera batteries.
INCLUDES:
Transport in a 4WD safari vehicle
All park entrance fees
English speaking driver guide
Accommodation and meals as stated in the program
All guide fees
EXCLUDES:

In-town accommodations

Activities not mentioned in the program
We suggest for the guide $ 25 to $ 30 per day per group and for the cook (for camping safaris) $ 15 to $ 20 per day per group.
There are a few cultural side excursions that are totally optional, but I wanted to let you know so you can think about if you want to experience them. You can visit a Maasai Village. This cost is approximately $ 20/person and you get the opportunity to walk around the village and talk to some of the people there. They explain how they live and some of their customs. They also have jewelry and some other items for sale, but again, this is also optional. Yes, it is a business and somewhat arranged, but still an authentic meeting of people from this very important part of Tanzanian Culture.
If you visit Serengeti, you can also visit Olduvai/Oldupai Gorge, which is between Ngorongoro and Serengeti. This is also around $ 20. This is where you can see the oldest skull of the earliest man discovered, and also a footprint. This is one of the world’s most important paleoanthropological sites! You can discuss with your guide about these places and decide if you want to go there.
At Lake Manyara there is a culture tour as well. Here you have a village walk and meet people of various tribes. Also you can see a banana plantation, a rice plantation, see how the Chagga tribe makes banana beer called mbege and see local craftspeople creating wood carvings and canvas paintings. Many of our guests have done this tour and really enjoy it! It takes about 2 or 3 hours and is $ 20 per person.
There are many different levels of service with all the different companies. GlossyAdventures has established a high level of service for our guests to insure they have a great experience. We make sure all the vehicles are newer and in great repair, as we want you to be safe on the road.
Our guides are very professional and knowledgeable and fun. Our cooks make amazing food and high quantity. We have important safety considerations at all times. Our tents and sleeping bags and other needed gear is all quality and in good condition. Our guests are in for a very satisfying, safe, exciting, relaxing experience, almost always completely exceeding their expectations! It is easy for a company to claim whatever they like about their services and equipment, but instead let us give you this link to our Trip Advisor reviews:https://www.facebook.com/glossyAdventur/
Regarding… Zanzibar Tour
We would have to work quickly to book the flights from Kilimanjaro Airport to Zanzibar.
If booked well in advance, the tickets can be had for around $450/person but can be twice as much with short notice or not available. Inside Zanzibar there are a wide range of accommodations. We can advise you of the options as we go further into the trip plans.
We will work with you to create the right itinerary for your trip. When you are satisfied with the itinerary, the booking will be secured by payment of a 30% deposit. We can accept online payments through visa/mastercard or by bank wire transfer. The balance can be paid upon arrival if you like.
