Marangu Route 5Days

This route is also known as the coca cola route, it is the only route on Mount Kilimanjaro on which by the climbers sleep in the hut and not in the tent! We are also nicknamed it lodging route. This route rouses from the Kilimanjaro National park Headquarters, it has got six different zones, cultivations zone, Montana forest zone, heath and moorland forest, Tundra desert, Alpine desert and arctic zone. It is one of the easiest routes on Mount Kilimanjaro….

Day 1- Mandara

From the cluster of the building at the gate it is about four hours hike through the forest to reach mandara hut 2720m (3 hrs)

Day 2- Horombo

Your second day on the mountain starts with a steep climb through the last swathe of the rain forest. Further on this day you gain 1000m in altitude to reach Horombo hut 3720m (5 hrs)

Day 3- Kibo hut
we cross the lunar desert of the saddle,(the area between kibo and mawenzi peak to reach kibo hut. 4700m (5 hrs)

Day 4- Summit
we will start the final ascent at 11:00 or at midnight, we climb slowly in the darkness on a switchback trail through the loose scree to reach uhuru peak 5895m, then after few minutes taking pictures we descend to horombo hut to spend our final night (11 -13 hrs) here is where you say goodbye to your guides, cook and porters and if your satisfied with the service they give you, tip them.

Day 5- Marangu gate
a steady descent takes us down through the moorland forest then to the Montana rain forest to reach marangu gate 1970m, where your car will be ready to transport you back to the hotel or airport.

Day 6 -Arusha

Lemosho Route 8Days

LEMOSHO AND SHIRA ROUTES:

We avoid the crowded routes by taking these routes; they are less popular for the climbers but very scenic, challenging and attractive routes, the routes starts on the western side of mount Kilimanjaro with beautiful and spectacular view of shira peak, these two routes may connect to either baranco barafu or lava tower .

The Shira route approaches Kilimanjaro through forest and moorland from the west, crossing the caldera of Shira volcano and exploring the rock formations of the plateau, before traversing beneath the Southern ice fields of Kibo. We make our final ascent by the Barafu route.

Day 1: A short day of walking that begins from Lemosho National Park gate (1980m.) through the forest, and continue climbing steadily on a broad track through the montane rain forest to get to mti mkubwa camp site .overnight at mti mkubwa 2600m (3hrs)

Day 2: A long day to help acclimatization and to explore the grassy moorland and the volcanic rock formations of the plateau. We walk to the huge buttress of rock surrounded by steep spires and pinnacles. There is a tangible sense of wilderness here (especially when the afternoon mists come in) and the views of Mt. Meru floating on the clouds are simply unforgettable overnight at shira one camp 3450m (6 hours walking)

Day 3: An easy day to help acclimatization and to explore the grassy moorland and the volcanic rock formations of the plateau. To reach lava tower 4600m overnight at lava tower 4600m. (4hrs)

Day 4: A short and easy morning of gentle descends to reach barranco camp 3,950m overnight at baranco. (3hrs)

Day 5: A speed climb up the barranco wall is followed by an undulating trail on the south-eastern flank of Kibo, with superb vistas of the Southern ice fields. Overnight at Karanga camp 4100m (4hrs)

Day 6: A short but steep climb out of Karanga valley camp, following an easy path on compacted scree with wide views that gained altitude unrelentingly to reach the barafu camp site 4600m (3hrs)

Day 7: We will start our final ascent to the summit by midnight slow but steady pace to uhuru peak 5,895m. Then descent to barafu is surprisingly fast, and after some refreshment, we continue to descend to reach our final campsite Mweka hut (3,100m.) 11-15 hours walking, here is where you say goodbye to your guides, cook and porters by shaking hands and if you’re satisfied with the service they give you, tip them

Day 8: A sustained descent through lovely forest with lush undergrowth takes us to the National Park gate at Mweka (1,750m), where by the car will be there ready to transport us back to the lodge

The Shira route approaches Kilimanjaro through forest and moorland from the west, crossing the caldera of Shira volcano and exploring the rock formations of the plateau, before traversing beneath the Southern icefieds of Kibo. We make our final ascent by the Barafu route. The six day itinerary ensures good acclimatization and there are often stunning views of Kibo in the sharp light of morning and early evening.

Welcome to the nearest National park in Northern Circuit, this national park offers two different adventures sightseeing, wildlife and mountain climbing both of these will be experienced with the climbers, you trek while enjoying the magnificent scenery and animals life plus the Arusha city view! Mount Meru is a wonderful mountain with amazing scenery and wildlife; it’s location in East Africa means that most tourists will visit Mount Meru as a secondary trip in conjunction with their primary destination, usually Kilimanjaro, Mount Kenya, or Northern circuit safari parks. Reasons to do this summit include.

Acclimatization before Kilimanjaro climbing, attractive views into the summit crater and ash cone, hiking along the crest of the crater rim, nice, but distant, views of Kilimanjaro from the summit, the ability to see a lot of wildlife on the lower slopes in the form of a walking safari, the chance to escape the tourist crowds.

On the lower slopes of the mountain and inside the park, there is a good chance of spotting animals. An armed ranger will accompany your party on the first stage to protect against any wildlife threats. The trail follows the north rim of the crater, along a dramatic ridgeline. Once at the summit, the views of Mount Kilimanjaro and down into Meru crater are very fascinating.

Day 1- Miriakamba hut

Day 2- Saddle hut

From here the route progress through thinner vegetation, as you continue your way the peaks of little Meru and big Meru itself become more defined!!The saddle hut is in between the two peaks 3500m (4-5 hrs)

Day 3- Summit
